Mitch joined Merrick Architecture in 1998 primarily to assume a senior role in the design, development and co-ordination of the Vancouver Island Cancer Centre. Since that time he has contributed significantly to the successful realization of this and many other small and/or large scale complex projects and recently completed the SRO Renewal Initiative – a P3 project for BC Housing and PartnershipsBC spanning over 5 years to design, construct and rehabilitate/restore 13 heritage buildings in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.
Mitch offers 3 decades of experience in a wide range of project types including large scale rezoning initiatives, commercial office, heritage restoration/rehabilitation and adaptive re-use projects, university educational facilities, single and multi-family residential projects, industrial waste and water pump stations and institutional health care projects. He possesses a well-developed and comprehensive knowledge of the technical requirements for building design, documentation, and construction in all building sectors alongside a genuine desire for excellence in all aspects of design and process. He provides leadership in the design and delivery of projects as well as a proven ability in the effective management of project teams, client groups and the process. Mitch is currently working on a 24 storey LEED® Platinum Commercial Office building with Westbank Projects Corp.
